Spree WM Statement

Each year, we have looked forward to connecting with the children, young people and leaders who join us at Spree West Midlands. Since 2016, the Spree Core Team have felt privileged to collaboratively lead an event that grown significantly in size, while prioritising missional intimacy and creating opportunities for local networks to be developed and strengthened.

Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a direct impact on Spree WM. We have been unable to run the event for two years due to the restrictions and, during this period, several of the Core Team members’ roles have changed as the various partner organisations have sought to respond to the evolving needs of the pandemic. As a result, it is with sadness that we confirm that the time for Spree WM has come to an end. This is not a decision we have taken lightly and there are two overriding reasons that have led us to this decision. Firstly, Spree WM was birthed out of a desire to see Kingdom building in action. Collaboration and partnership were core components of its identity. Secondly, we recognise we need to be agile in this post-pandemic landscape, and by laying down the significant operational commitments of a large-scale event in the West Midlands, the various partners can identify and organically respond to more localised opportunities to build and serve the Kingdom together. Thank you for being part of the journey.

Spree West Midlands may not be taking place, but we would love to keep you informed of other events taking place that may be of interest – head to our Camps Online Brochure to find out more information about other Camps close by.
